Praying Through Psalms: “God’s Throne” (Psalm 2)

“‘I have installed my king on Zion, my holy mountain.’  Therefore, you kings, be wise; be warned, you rulers of the earth.  Serve the Lord with fear and celebrate His rule with trembling.”  -Psalm 2:6,10-11

God, You diligently reign on Your throne, not passively in a distant land, but through the lives of Your people and in all the things of this world.

In the roles of responsibility You have given me, I have too often refused to acknowledge Your glorious and active reign in my life as well as in the circumstances surrounding me.  Sometimes, my service to You has been self-focused, and therefore not service to You at all.

But once again, You offer me grace through the fear of the Lord.  My heart is thankful that You have shown me Your power and authority in all things, and Your heart is good.

Show me, Lord, how to serve You with fear and celebrate Your rule with trembling.  Would You, today, do an awesome work within me?
